How to make a Wheel Cake

Guys and Dolls, here is a another "How to" blogpost for you to try out yourself in making a Wheel Cake. 

First of all, you will need the following ingredients and equipment before you get started. 

8 Eggs                                              Equipment
2 Oz Self Raising Flour                     2 Large Bowls               Electric Whisk
3 Oz Caster Sugar                           Wooden Spoon              Measuring Jug
1/2 Tsp of Cream of Tartar                Teaspoon                       Spatula
2-3 Tbsp of Oil                                 Tablespoon                    2 Cake Tins
                                                         Baking Paper                Pastry Cutter
                                                          Scissors
Flavouring  eg  2-4 Tbsp of Orange Juice 
                      Dessicated Coconut 3/4   
                     1 tsp of Pandan Extract 

 Lets Get Started ^.^ 

1) Separate the egg whites and egg yolks into 2 separate bowls 


2) Add Cream of Tartar to the bowl containing the egg whites 
3) In the bowl containing the egg yolks, add sugar and flavouring into it, Stir



Stir to this consistency
4) Sieve in flour ( i cheated i didnt use a a sieve i just poured my flour in gradually) hehe

5) Add oil


6) Whisk Egg Whites til it is stiff and form peaks

 
7) Pour egg york mixture into  egg whites and fold both mixture together 

8) DIY WHEEL CAKE TIN XD 
Get 2 cake tins and some baking paper, trace the cake tins, cut it out so you can line the tin with
9) Cut 4 strips of baking paper about 6-7cm wide

10) Line the edges of the cake tins 

11) get a small pastry cutter and line that with some baking paper  


12) Place in centre of cake tin 

13) Pour mixture into tin


14) Turn oven to Gas Mark 4 and bake for 40 mins until golden brown 


15) Finished Product

  1. Wouldn't it be easier to use a bundt cake tin?

    Pretty good for a DIY mould though :D I always have trouble with mixing my egg white and sugar :(

  2. yeah i could have if i had a bundt cake tin but i just made use at what i already have =)

    are you talking about making a wheel cake or in general ? :S
