This blogpost is long over-due....soooo sorry guys! but im back and posting again..... =D
Recently, i remade the marble cake that i made the other week but with another twist to it in which you can see below with step-by-step method on how to make your own marble cake.
So, lets get started then
First of all, you will need the following ingredients:
125g Butter
125 g Sugar
3 Eggs
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
125g Plain Flour (sifted)
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
25 mls Milk
***************************************************************************************
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees/ Gas Mark 4
- Grease the cake tin and line with greaseproof paper
3. Cream the butter until soft, then add sugar into the bowl, beat together til light and fluffy
4. Whisk the eggs and vanilla extract together in a small bowl
6. Sift the flour and baking powder into the mixture and whisk till everything is all combined together
7. Then add milk, the continue to mix for 1 minute
8 .Half the mixture into a separate bowl, 1 original and other of your choice (eg, mix in cocoa powder, orange flavouring, almonds, raisins, lemon zest......anything you fancy :) )
10 . Pour in tin by taking spoonfuls of each mixture to get the 'marble effect'11. Bake for 45 Minutes
12Turn the cake out onto a cooling wire before serving

I don't see the marble effect in the last pic.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you add to get the pinky colour in one of your mixture?
Binh - hey, i tend to try out anything that looks tasty but do you have any cakes in mind that you would like me to try out, im more than happy to give everything a try :D
ReplyDeletecindy - hey! yeah i forgot to add on my blog post about the failure of the marble affect on that particular attempt. But, i think the cause of that was because the food colouring was too watery that affected the overall colour of the mixture. In my other post, with the green marble cake, that green colouring was more thick in comparison to the pink colouring.
